PRACTICING FILMMAKER AS EDUCATOR

I first started teaching film at Syracuse University’s College of Visual and Performing Arts - Department of Transmedia. Now, I teach graduate and undergraduate classes in the School of Film and Animation at Rochester Institute of Technology. My teaching portfolio mirrors my focus on writing, directing, and cinematography. I draw from my experience as a practicing filmmaker to teach students by giving them context of real world situations. Additionally, to accommodate new topics emerging from rapidly evolving technology and content distribution methods, I regularly analyze relevancy of the material that I teach and make necessary adjustments.
